Faith Lessons

Arise Creations is tackling the topic of racial justice this semester with lessons that help us to see how God views all people and how having a merciful heart means seeking justice. Our lesson series on racial justice has been a powerful time for the youth who are sharing their experiences, questions and learning new skills in how to talk about race in a meaningful way. We are excited to continue growing in our faith as believers who speak out and actively seek out justice in our communities.

Youth responses:

Prompt: Share what you have learned about God’s characteristics and how he views justice. How have these conversations impacted you and how can you challenge others?

Shaniyah:

Do you embody characteristics of God? Here’s the answer; we all do! In Arise we’ve been learning what it means to be a reflection of God, (not a literal reflection though). It means we all have the ability to be merciful, sacrificers, lovers and respectful in life. Because of the Arise discussions every Tuesday and Thursday, I’ve learned to look at the bigger picture. It’s important to incorporate God into your everyday life decisions. It’s also important to build your relationship with him so that you’re able to answer that question. Do you embody the characteristics of God?

Danisa:

Arise Creations is the best “job” to learn about business and God. What I have been learning about God is he is someone you shouldn’t be afraid of. One common things is that people slowly get distant because of bad things that happen, but he does it for a reason. These conversations have impacted me by getting closer to him and understanding he does things for a reason and they will become better.

Jayla:

I’ve learned that God made us all in his image, not appearance wise but more so in our soul. Deep down, we all know our rights from wrongs and it’s sad and kinda depressing seeing others make the wrong choices. These conversations really taught me that no matter how many mistakes I make, God will be there forgiving me and help me down my path of repentance.

Holiday Updates:

We have launched our new Urban Hope Bronze earrings today (designed by the high school youth). Our Black Friday 40% off sale is going on now through Nov 27th & our annual Cyber Monday Instagram auction begins on Nov 30th! Every year, we host an Instagram auction with original pieces that are not sold in our store. Bidding takes place throughout the day beginning at 9 am CST in the comment section of each post and ends at 9pm CST on Nov 30th. Make sure you are following us on Instagram @arisecreations to participate and support this fundraiser.

As we continue to navigate running a business during the Coronavirus pandemic, we have shifted to prioritizing our online presence. Typically, we have many in-person events but the pandemic has made that difficult. We are now hosting virtual parties for groups who would love to learn from our youth and support our mission. You can book virtual parties on our Events page. There are many ways to support this year, and we look forward to sharing the girl’s work with you through these various channels.
